What is PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy?

It is a safe new form of regenerative medicine that utilizes the patient’s own platelets – for you, by you!

Platelets release proteins called growth factors when they are activated by contact with the body’s tissue. This activation promotes tissue repair and collagen production. You can inject PRP into any area where you would inject a dermal filler. It will not have the same effect as a filler since the two treatments work in different ways. However, it will stimulate collagen production in the area, which will be plumped with time.

What can be treated by PRP therapy?

  • Hair loss
  • Dark eye circles
  • Hand rejuvenation
  • Stretch marks & scars
  • Wrinkles & large pores
  • Fine lines on the forehead
  • Fine lines & turkey neck
  • Thin & wrinkled skin of the upper eyelid
Wrinkled skin of the bust area

Frequently Asked Questions
1
Is it painful? Due to the local anesthetic cream, most patients do not find it painful. However, some patients might encounter mild swelling, bruising, or itchiness for 2 days post-treatment.
2
How many sessions do I need? Treatment protocols vary from one patient to another. Hence, the number of treatments needed will be determined following our dermatologist’s consultation. In general, patients over the age of 40 will need a course of 3 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Younger patients may only need 1. Most people start to notice results themselves around 3-4 weeks with continuous improvements up to 6-12 months after treatment.
